NORTHBOUNDACADEMY

A six-month school for adults at a crossroads.

Twenty-four evenings in Aventura, almost all of them Tuesdays. You write one page describing who you intend to be in two years — then spend six months proving it, with five people trained in how to hold you to it.

How it works

Four things, and nothing else to keep track of.

The page
One page, present tense, two years out, across six areas of your life — health, relationships, money, work, growth and what you give back. It opens with what you have already been given. The page stays private. One line of it, the intention you choose to share, goes to your mentor, who checks it with you every week.
The First Move
From one line of that page you draft a single thing you can finish in thirteen weeks — about two hours a week on top of Tuesday nights. Your mentor sizes it down to fit; this is not a second job. It has to exist on the table at graduation, not a tally of attempts. Beside it you build The File: five documents, the same five for everyone, each one the output of a named session. If the thing itself goes sideways because the world said no, the File still exists and the work was real.
The Legacy
Three teams of six. Each one is commissioned to build something the school actually uses, with a written brief, a real deadline and a budget.
The mentors
Six mentors, three students each, for six months. They know your work and your hours. They never read your page.

Doors at 7:00, the session runs 7:30 to 10:00. The long break sits early rather than at the end, because you arrive having already worked a full day. The last block is yours — usually around forty minutes, longer when the method needs it, practised in the room on your own material and never on a worked example. From session eleven the lecture halves and the last forty-five minutes belong to your team.

Why it works

Every evening is built on something measured.

Twenty-four sessions, twenty-four cited studies — each with its design, its real numbers and its caveat. Where the research undercuts what we teach, we say so in the room.

24% → 66%

Two cities, the same programme and the same instructors. People who enrolled alone still held their full result six months later at 24 percent. Those who enrolled with three friends, and were trained in how to support one another, 66.

Wing & Jeffery, 1999. Randomised trial, 166 adults, Pittsburgh and Minneapolis. One domain only, and their three friends were their own choosing while our teams are assigned — that is the part we cannot copy. Neither ingredient did much alone.
d = 0.65

The effect size for goal attainment when people wrote a single if-then sentence. Ninety-four independent tests. The goal was not the variable. The sentence was.

Gollwitzer & Sheeran, 2006. Meta-analysis, medium-to-large by the authors’ own description, mostly short- and medium-term behaviour. An if-then plan converts motivation; it does not create it. It works on top of a goal you already have.
34%

Three thousand people on an intensive programme, then it was switched off and everyone followed for ten years. Across the full decade they were still 34 percent better off — on what they banked while it ran.

Diabetes Prevention Program, 2009. A health trial, not a personal-development programme, so the transfer is by analogy. And be precise: the benefit persisted, the rate of new gain did not. Nothing keeps working after you leave — which is exactly why the last sessions are about what you put in place before you walk out.

The six months

The order is the design.

Nothing is asked of you before the instrument exists. By the night you commit, you have already written the page, practised the reading and measured your own interference.

1–4

Where you stand

The beliefs you did not choose, the purpose sentence, the cost of waiting, and the plan for the day motivation is gone.

5–6

The instrument

What you have been telling yourself, and then the page itself — written, not discussed.

7–10

Why it works

Attention, obstacles, emotion, interference. The mechanics behind the page, before anyone relies on it.

11–14

The work begins

You draft your own project, your team takes its commission, and everything gets broken into pieces with dates on them.

15–22

Execution

Starting, ideas, money, hours, sequence, tools, specialisation. Eight weeks of doing it rather than planning it.

23–24

Sending you out

The ask, and the version of the page you keep — written by hand, dated June 2029.

What you leave with

On the table

  • One finished thing, with thirteen weeks of recorded evidence behind it.
  • A page you actually believe, because you wrote it three times and cut whatever you were only saying.
  • Twenty-four methods, each used once, on your own material.

And after

  • Five people trained in how to support you, who noticed when you went quiet.
  • A mentor who watched you do it, not a certificate that says you attended.
  • A bound book with your final page written into it in your own hand.

The practical part

What it asks of you.

Applying

It starts with a conversation, not a form.

Tell us how to reach you. It starts with a fifteen-minute call with one of the mentors — and if it looks like a fit, a longer conversation after that. Nobody talks about a place or a payment before then.
